Lets keep in mind that in the eighties there was wery little public awareness about IMF or the world bank or the G7,but today these terms are common knowledge,at least amongst people who are interested in the wellbeing of the world.
I dont think that any sort of movement is dying.Perhaps some tries to kill the movement by claiming its dying.Today the general public knows about how money and power goes around, and its not only a question of "this country out of this" or "world Peace" but today folks are protesting the issue of veto within the UN or patenting genes.
In other words-we are learning and we are refocusing.
Our movement is not dying, just evolving. Its a up to date womensmovement or peacemovement or workinclassmovement, antiglobalisationmovement, these are all names stamped upon those who speaks out,and we dont have to apply this to uorselfs unless we want.
Anyone who think the antiglobalisation movement is dying have not been checking their facts with their searchengines. Its all about refocusing and we are learning.
When it comes to folks smashing MacDonalds or what else
I can only say.People are in thir hearts agressive, this goes over all cultures(almoust)and religions, colors or borders. Why would there not be agression in our movement as well?We need to know its there and we need to control our anger, but we cannot opress it.It is part of humanity and the provided relief of this is commonly the army or policeforce where violent minded pople can legally use force of destruction.
In my experience the glassbreakers are very attatched to action rather then communication, and they easily move over to other kinds of violence.
Thanks, got to go to work! hjalmar Chico CA
