Foreign Policy In Focus (FPIF) encourages unsolicited contributions as well as queries about possible FPIF policy briefs, news commentaries, reports, and op-eds. FPIF does not pay for unsolicited contributions that we publish, although we do sometimes offer a small honorarium for the policy analyses and op-eds we commission.
If you are a new FPIF contributor, send representative writing samples (or web links to them) and a CV along with your query or unsolicited submission. The main FPIF products are:
Global Affairs Commentaries
Op-ed style commentary on current global affairs issue in 750-1200 words. See Global Affairs Commentary index.
Policy Briefs
Three-part analysis of U.S. policy issue in 2200-2400 words. Peer reviewed. See Policy Brief index.
Special Reports
An authoritative treatment of a foreign policy subject in 4,000-6,000 words with reference notes and charts. Peer reviewed. See Special Reports index.
Op-Eds
Written by those members of the FPIF think tank without walls who have authored other FPIF pieces, op-eds run about 750 words and address topical global affairs issues. The author keeps any income from newspapers using the piece. In return, the tag line must identify the writer as an FPIF analyst. See Op-Ed index.
Fiesta!
Looks at the intersection of foreign policy and culture in 1,000-2,000 words.
"Postcard from..."
A picture accompanied by 400 words.
We look forward to your participation in FPIF's think tank without walls.
