Staff Information

	John Feffer, co-director of Foreign Policy In Focus. John has authored or edited eight books and numerous articles. Most recently, he has been a Writing Fellow at Provisions Library in Washington, DC and a PanTech fellow in Korean Studies at Stanford University. He is a former associate editor of World Policy Journal. He has worked as an international affairs representative in Eastern Europe and East Asia for the American Friends Service Committee. He has also worked for the AFSC on such issues as the global economy, gun control, women and workplace, and domestic politics. He has served as a consultant for the Friends Committee on National Legislation, among other organizations.
	Emira Woods, co-director of Foreign Policy In Focus. Emira holds a BA in International Relations from Columbia, a certificate in Public Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton, a Master's in Government from Harvard, and is ABD in Political Economy and Government at Harvard. Prior to joining the IPS staff, Emira was Program Manager for the Committee on Development Policy and Practice at InterAction, serving as a principle staff contact for advocacy at the UN, the international financial institutions, USAID, and Treasury. Prior to this position, she served as Program Officer of Oxfam America's Africa program, which involved outreach to the heads of major international institutions and grassroots groups in the most remote communities.
	Erik Leaver is the 2007 Carol and Ed Newman Fellow for FPIF and serves as the primary liaison with Congress. His current work includes conducting education and outreach on issues surrounding Iraq, Iran, and multilateral institutions. He holds an MA in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico and worked with the Interhemispheric Resource Center in New Mexico for FPIF before moving to Washington in April 1999.
	Miriam Pemberton is a research fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies and the peace and security editor for FPIF. She leads a group that produces the annual “Unified Security Budget for the United States.” Other recent publications include "The Budgets Compared: Military vs. Climate Security." Formerly she was editor, researcher and finally director of the National Commission for Economic Conversion and Disarmament. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. With William Hartung of the New America Foundation, she is co-editor of the book Lessons from Iraq: Avoiding the Next War (Paradigm Publishers, 2008).
	Emily Schwartz Greco is the media director for FPIF. Emily brings to FPIF/IPS more than a decade's experience as a reporter with Bloomberg News and Dow Jones. Trained at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Emily covered foreign affairs, business and economics in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil, as well as Washington, DC, New York City, and Havana, Cuba. Articles she wrote for Bloomberg News appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other publications.
